Kristy Kemp

Event Specialist

Kristy grew up in Cypress and acquired her degree from California State University Long Beach. Her major in Hospitality, Foodservice and Hotel Management with a Minor in Event Planning led her to Jay’s!

Growing up, Kristy’s parents hosted family BBQ’s, holidays, etc., and her mom would always nail themed birthday parties for her and her brother. This is where Kristy’s initial interest and love of putting together and executing events began. After high school and through college, she was a server at various restaurants, so food and people have always been things she is comfortable with and enjoys. After college, Kristy was able to get her first Events Specialist job with Marriott Hotels in Buena Park and then Downtown Long Beach where she worked with corporate clients. Soon after, she moved to Alaska where she worked as a Catering Sales Manager at the Sheraton Hotel and handled all military and non-profit events as well as corporate meetings. From there she was able to move to a private, members only club in Anchorage where she was their Catering and Events Specialist. Kristy did everything from annual golf tournaments to wine tastings and elaborate 6 course wine pairing dinners. Once her son was born, she took some time off to enjoy being a first-time mom and moved her family back to California where she was given the opportunity to work for us here at Jay’s!
